OOWOO DESIGN (previously known as UWU) is an architectural practice offering services in residential design, interior remodelling, and supporting documentation at all stages of work. With over a decade of experience, we bring a grounded, community-conscious approach to each project we take on. Our firm was founded with a clear mission: to create thoughtful, inclusive spaces that reflect the everyday lives of the people who inhabit them. Our work features on close collaboration with clients and communities, with a strong emphasis on context, clarity, and rigorous design.
Though we are a small studio, our background spans diverse project types from adaptive reuse and multi-family housing to renovations and urban infill, locally and internationally. This range shapes our approach to balancing design vision with constructibility, and we value strong collaboration with contractors who share our dedication to quality. Our team brings experience from leading firms such as Morphosis, Tighe Architecture, SOM, and RIOS, contributing to high-profile projects. Our work as OOWOO has earned industry recognition and appeared in publications such as Surface, Pressing Matters, and Metropolis.
In addition to architecture, we create digital educational content (paperscape.io) to foster dialogue and knowledge-sharing within the design community—reflecting our commitment to a creative and inclusive practice.
We’re always open to new opportunities to work together. Hope to speak soon!

danny ortega, AIA associate
Danny Ortega is an architectural designer with a Master of Architecture degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Originally from rural Nebraska, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Design from the University of Nebraska, where he was awarded multiple accolades for his research on sacred architecture and religious spaces, titled “Searching the Ineffable".
Danny gained valuable experience at esteemed firms such as Morphosis Architects, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), and RIOS, contributing to high-profile projects and competitions. Through the years, his teams have been awarded honors and have been published on well-known platforms such as Surface Magazine, Pressing Matters, and Metropolis Magazine.
He is the son of Mexican and Salvadorian immigrants, and a father to two cats with big attitudes. He loves Husker football almost as much as architecture and is always looking for a chance to catch the next game. Otherwise, he is scrolling through reels about architectural discourse, sketching potential research concepts, and is highly devoted to improving his craft.
ANNA LIM, AIA, NCARB
Anna Lim is a licensed architect whose work bridges design, storytelling, and context. She has contributed to projects at acclaimed firms including Morphosis, SOM, NBBJ, Moore Ruble Yudell, Perkins Eastman, and Corgan. Beyond architecture, her work in graphic design has been published by Gulf Pacific Press and Penn Press, reflecting her love for design in many forms.
Anna earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration and Architectural Studies from the University of Southern California (USC), followed by a Master of Architecture and a Certificate in Real Estate Development & Design from the University of Pennsylvania (Penn). She has been awarded a prestigious full-tuition scholarship from USC, research fellowships at Penn, and multiple design awards throughout her academic career. Originally from the Sacramento Valley in Northern California raised by South Korean immigrants, she identifies as Korean-American.
Whether she’s meeting new people, working on a project, or rethinking how architecture can better serve its context, Anna brings energy, curiosity, and rigor to every situation.
NICHOLAS HOUSER
Nicholas Houser is an architectural designer whose work bridges research, emerging technologies, and design innovation. He received his Bachelor of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University and completed his Master of Architecture and Master of Science in Design: Robotics and Autonomous Systems at the University of Pennsylvania. He is the recipient of both the KPF Traveling Fellowship and the Dales Traveling Fellowship, which enabled him to pursue architectural research and design explorations in Finland, New York, Spain, Pennsylvania, California, and Texas.
Houser has worked with a range of influential architects and firms including Kivi Sotamaa, Mark Foster Gage, and Tom Wiscombe Architecture. His professional experience spans experimental design, concept-driven work, and advanced visualization methods that push the boundaries of architectural representation. At OOWOO, he continues to expand these pursuits, developing new approaches to visualization and computational design while contributing to projects that are as conceptually rigorous as they are contextually grounded.
He currently teaches at the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University in Philadelphia, and composes music in his free time.
